Cake Decorating.
On a Budget.
Impossible. Right?
Well…that’s what I’m writing about today. I love food, I love sweets, I love when they’re beautiful, and I want to be able to make them beautiful!! I want someone to say “I wish I could afford an incredible wedding cake, but everywhere is just too expensive” and for me to be able to say, “Hey, I could do that!”
Here’s the problem. It still costs money. Money is something which I do not have right now. However…after talking things over with my husband, we decided that we could stretch our grocery budget a little bit once a month, so I could practice cake decorating.
And that’s where this blog post was born!
Here is my reasoning…
There are 12 months in the year.
There is about 1 holiday per month.
One cake per holiday doesn’t sound that bad.
12 cakes per year…
Let’s do it!!
So if you’ll join me, I will be posting one cake per month. If you have any ideas you would love to see, please, let me know!
Here’s a list of things I’ve done so far. I will keep updating this page as new posts are added.
January: (I came up with the cake decorating idea in February, so I missed this month. I’ll have to make up for it next year. I’m thinking that will be the grand finale…a three-tiered wedding cake!)
February: Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry Cake
April: A Fresh Cake For Easter
Next Month is May! I'm going between Mother's Day or my husband's birthday, but I have an ice cream cake planned for him...
